거인족이 등장하는 민수기 13장 내용 보기

성경 민수기 13장은 12장의 내분에 이어 이스라엘 백성이 가나안 땅에 들어가기 전에 12명의 정탐꾼을 보내 그 지역을 알아보는 내용이 담겨 있습니다.

 

가나안 땅을 정탐해라

 

민수기 13장 1절부터 하나님은 백성들에게 가나안 땅을 정탐할 사람들을 보내라고 명령합니다. 그래서 정탐꾼을 선발하는데 각 지파별로 한 사람씩 뽑아 놓은 것 같은데요. 먼저 르우벤 지파에서는 삭굴의 아들 삼무아, 그리고 시므온 지파에서는 호리의 아들 사밧, 그리고 유다지파는 여분네의 아들 갈렙, 잇사갈 지파는 요셉의 아들 이갈, 에브라임 지파는 눈의 아들 호세아, 베냐민 지파는 라푸의 아들 발디, 스불론 지파는 소디의 아들 갓디엘, 요셉지파 혹은 므낫세 지파는 수시의 아들 갓디, 단 지파는 그말리의 아들 암미엘, 아셀 지파는 미가엘의 아들 스둘, 납달리 지파는 웁시의 아들 나비, 갓 지파는 마기의 아들 그우엘이 선발됩니다.

 

 

1. The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 2."Send men to spy out the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the people of Israel, From each tribe of their fathers you shall send a man, every one a chief among them." 3. So Moses sent them from the wilderness of Paran, according to the command of the Lord, all of them men who were heads of the people of Israel. 4. And these were their names: From the tribe of Reuben, Shammua the son of Zaccur, 5..  from the tribe of Simeon, Shaphat the son of Hori; 6. from the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh; 7. from the tribe of Issachar, Igal the son of Joseph; 8. from the tribe of Ephraim, Hoshea the son of Nun; 9. from the tribe of Benjamin, Palti the son of Raphu; tribe of Benjamin, Palti the son of Raphu; 10. from the tribe of Zebulun, Gaddiel the son of Sodi; 11. from the tribe of Joseph(that is, from the tribe of Manasseh), Gaddi the son of Susi; 12. from the tribe of Dan, Ammiel the son of Gemalli; 13. from the tribe of Asher, Sethur the son of Michael; 14. from the tribe of Naphtali, Nahbi the son of Vophsi; 15. from the tribe of Gad, Geuel the son of Machi. 16. These were the names of the men whom Moses sent to spy out the land. And Moses called Hoshea the son of Nun Joshua.

 

그리고 16절에서 모세는 눈의 아들 호세아의 이름을 여호수아로 바꿔 불렀다고 합니다.

 과일을 훔쳐 오라고 시킨 하나님?

 

17. Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan and said to them, "Go up into the Negeb and go up into the hill country, 18. and see what the land is, and whether the people who dwell in it are strong or weak, whether they are few or many, 19. and whether the land that they dwell in is good or bad, and whether the cities that they dwell in are camps or strongholds, 20. and whether the land is rich or poor, and whether there are trees in it or not. Be of good courage and bring some of the fruit of the land." Now the time was the season of the first ripe grapes.

 

 

하나님은 이스라엘 백성들에게 약속의 땅을 선사한다면서 별의 별 것을 다 시키시네요. 모든 것을 주관하는 하나님이 왜 사람을 시켜서 정탐을 하라는지 이해불가입니다. 이게 무슨 스파이 짓이란 말인가요? 아무튼 하나님은 정탐꾼을 통해 땅에 사는 사람들이 많은지 적은 지 강한지 약한 지부터 땅이 좋은지 나쁜지 등등을 면밀히 조사하라고 하며 모세는 그들에게 그 땅의 과일 그러니까 포도가 수확철이어서 그런지 포도를 훔쳐 오라고 합니다. 과일 서리를 대체 왜 시킨 걸까요?

 

 

 최초로 등장한 거인족 그리고 에스골 골짜기

 

21. So they went up and spied out the land from the wilderness of Zin to Rehob, near Lebo-hamath. 22. They went up into the Negeb and came to Hebron. Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai, the descendants of Anak, were there.(Hebron was built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.) 23. And they came to the Valley of Eshcol and cut down from there a branch with a single cluster o fgrapes, and they carried it on a pole between two of them; they also brought some pomegranates and figs. 24. That place was called the Valley of Eshcol, because of the cluster that the people of Israel cut down from there.

 

정탐꾼들이 40일 동안 가나안 땅을 정탐하는 과정 중에서 최초의 거인족 네피림의 후손으로 보이는 아낙 자손인 아히만, 세새, 달매가 거주하는 것을 보게 됩니다. 그리고는 정탐꾼들은 에스골 골짜기에서 매우 큰 포도송이를 발견하여 막대에 끼워서 가져왔으며 가져온 김에 석류와 무화과를 가져옵니다.

 

 정탐 보고 토론

 

25. At the end of forty days they returned from spying out the land. 26. And they came to Moses and Aaron and to all the congregation of the people of Israel in the wilderness of Paran, at Kadesh. They brought back word to them and to all the congregation, and showed them the fruit of the land. 27. And they told him, "We came to the land to which you sent us. It flows with milk and honey, and this is its fruit. 28. However, the people who dwell in the land are strong, and the cities are fortified and very large. And besides, we saw the descendants of Anak there. 29. The Amalekites dwell in the land of the Negeb. The Hittites, the Jebusites, and the Amorites dwell in the hill country. And the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and along the Jordan."

 

과일을 훔쳐 온 정탐꾼들은 가나안 땅에 대한 세세한 보고를 하면서 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 땅이며 어쩌구 저쩌구 땅은 아주 좋지만 거주하는 사람들이 덩치가 너무 커서 감히 대적할 수 없다고 합니다. 그중에서 어떤 이들은 충분히 제압 가능하다고 하고 일부는 절대 이길 수 없다며 그들 앞에 자신들은 메뚜기에 불과하다고 하였습니다.

 

 

30. But Caleb quietened the people before Moses and said, "Let us go up at once and occupy it, for we are well able to overcome it." 31. Then the men who had gone up with him said, "We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we are." 32. So they brought to the people of Israel a bad report of the land that they had spied out, saying, "The land, through which we have gone to spy it out, is a land that devours its inhabitiants, and all the people that we saw in it are of great height. 33. And there we saw the Nephilim(the sons of Anak, who come from the Nephilim), and we seemed to ourselves like grasshoppers, and so we seemed to them."

 

아낙 자손의 후예 그리고 이들은 네필림의 후손이라는 것을 33절이 명확하게 알려주고 있는 것을 보아 거인족은 분명히 존재했었나 봅니다.
