질투의 법이 나오는 민수기 5장

민수기 5장은 정의와 진실을 지키고자 하는 방식으로 공동체 내에서 순수성을 유지하고 잘못된 것과 부정직함을 해결하며, 부부간의 불륜 혹은 의혹을 검사하는 절차를 제공하는 데 중점을 둔 내용이 나옵니다.

 

 

 

부정한 사람을 처리하라는 이유

 

 

 1. The Lord spoke to Moses, saying 2. "Command the people of Israel that they put out of the camp everyone who is leprous or has a discharge and everyone who is unclean through contact with the dead. 3. You shall put out both male and female, putting them outside the camp, that they may not defile their camp, in the midst of which I dwell." 4. And the people of Israel did so, and put them outside the camp; as the Lord said to Moses, so the people of Israel did.

 

 

 

민수기 5장 1절 내용은, 창조주가 부정한 사람, 그러니까 나병 등에 걸리거나 죽은 사람과 접촉하는 등의 부정한 사람을 진영 밖으로 내보내라고 명령합니다. 아마도 이는 군대 공동체 안에서 전염병을 옮기는 요소를 제거함이 목적이 아닌가 합니다.

 

 

 죄값에 관하여

 

5. And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 6. "Speak to the people of Israel, When a man or woman commits any of the sins that people commit by breaking faith with the Lord, and that person realizes his guilt, 7. he shall confess his sin that he has committed, And he shall make full restitution for his wrong, adding a fifth to it and giving it to him to whom he did the wrong. 8. But if the man has no next of kin to whom restitution may be made for the wrong, the restitution for wrong shall go to the Lord for the priest, in addition to the ram of atonement with which atonement is made for him. 9. And every contribution, all the holy donations of the people of Israel, which they bring to the priest,  shall be his. 10. Each one shall keep his holy donations; whatever anyone gives to the priest shall be his."

 

 

 

죄를 지으면 죄값을 치르는 방법에 관한 내용이 나오는데요. 그냥 죄를 지었으면 벌을 받고, 뉘우치고 그러면 되는 것을 거기에 5배를 더하느니 감하느니 매우 계산적인 방식으로 죄값을 정하고 있네요.

 

 

 간통과 저주

 

11. And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 12. "Speak to the people of Israel, If any man's wife oges astray and breaks faith with him, 13. if a man lies with her sexually, and it is hidden from the eyes of her husband, and she is undetected though she has defiled herself, and there is no witness against her, since she was not taken in the act, 14. and if the spirit of jualousy comes over him and he is jealous of his wife, though she has not defiled herself, 15. then the man shall bring his wife to the priest and bring the offering required of her, a tenth of an ephah of barley flour. He shall pour no oil on it and put no frankincense on it, for it is a grain offering of jealousy, a grain offering of remembrane, bringing iniquity to remembrance.

 

 

 

16. "And the priest shall bring her near and set her before the Lord. 17. And the priest shall take holy water in an earthenware vessel and take some of the dust that is on the floor of the tabernacle and put it into the water. 18. And the priest shall set the woman before the Lord and unbind the hair of the woman's head and place in her hands the grain offering of remembrance, which is the grain offering of jealousy; And in his hand the priest shall have the water of bitterness that brings the curse. 19. Then the priest shall make her take an oath, saying, 'If no man has lain with you, and if you have not turned aside to uncleaness while you were under your husband's authority, be free from this water of bitterness that brings the curse. 20. then' (let the priest make the woman take the oath of the curse, and say to the woman) ' the Lord make you a curse and an oath among your bowels and make your womb swell shall say, 'Amen, Amen.'

 

 

 

11절부터는 간통에 관한 내용입니다. 아내의 간통을 밝히는 소위 질투의 법을 토라트 하케나오트라고 한다는데요. 그 시절 아내들이 간통을 많이 하는 것인지 남편들이 의처증이 심한 것인지 알다가도 모르겠습니다. 또한, 의심의 정황을 밝히기 위해 토기에 물을 떠 놓고 바닥의 티끌을 취하여 물에 넣고 저주가 되게 할 쓴 물을 제사장 손에 들고 여인이 죄를 범했다면 그 저주가 여자에게 임하고 저주의 물을 마시는지 마는지 아무튼, 너무 너무 이상하 의식 같습니다. 굳이 이런 의식을 행하는 이유를 알 수 없으며 이것이 무속 신앙과 뭐가 다른가 싶기도 하고요. 어쨌거나, 여자가 간통을 하고 저주가 임하면 물 마시고 즉사하는 건가요? 그리고 왜 여자만 벌을 받나요?

 

 

 

 질투의 법

 

 

23. "Then the priest shall write these curses in a bok and wash them off into the water of bitterness. 24. And he shall make the woman drink the water of bitterness that brings the curse, and the water that brings the urse shall enter into her and cause bitter pain. 25. And the priest shall take the grain offering of jealousy out of the woman's hand and shall wave the grain offering before the Lord and bring it to the altar. 26. And the priest shall take a handful of the grain offering, as its memorial portion, and burn it on the altar, and faterwards shall make the woman drink the water. 27. And when he has made her drink the water, then, if she has defiled herself and has broken faith with her husband, the water that brings the curse shall enter into her and cause bitter pain, and her womb shall swell, and her thigh shall fall away, and the woman shall become a curse among her people. 28. But if the woman has not defiled herself and is clean, then she shall be free and shall conceive children.

 

와, 소름, 저주의 물을 마시면 자궁이 붓고 허벅지가 빠지고 백성들 한테 망신 당하고 온갖 봉변을 당한다는 것이고 그렇지 않고 여자가 정조를 잘 지키면 누명에서 벗어나고 임신해서 순산? 뭐 그렇다는 내용인 것인지 섬뜩합니다.

 

29. "This is the law in cases of jealousy, when a wife, though under her husband's authority, goes astray and defiles herself, 30 or when the spirit of jualousy comes over a man and he is jualous of his wife. Then he shall set the woman before the Lord, and the priest shall carry out for her all this law. 31. The man shall be free from iniquity, but the woman shall bear her iniquity."

 

창조주는 이것을 질투의 법이라고 명령합니다.
