상속 문제에 관해 다루는 민수기 36장

민수기 36장은 민수기 27장에서 다뤘던 슬로프하드의 딸들의 상속 문제와 여자 상속자의 결혼과 그에 따른 상속권에 관한 규정을 설정하는 내용을 다루고 있습니다.

 

상속을 받되 다른 지파에게 뺏기는 것은 안 되는 이유

 

 

민수기 27장과 같은 내용이 등장하는 민수기 36장입니다.

 

1 The heads of the fathers' houses of the clan of the people of Gilead the son of Machir, son of Manasseh, from the clans of the people of Joseph, came near and spoke before Moses and before the chiefs, the heads of the fathers' houses of the people of Israel.

2 They said, "The Lord commanded my lord to give the land for inheritance by lot to the people of Israel, and my lord was commanded by the Lord to give the inheritance of Zelophehad our brother to his daughters. 3 But if they are married to any of the sons of the other tribes of the people of Israel, then their inheritance will be taken from the inheritance of our fathers and added to the inheritance of the tribe into which they marry. So it will be taken away from the lot of our inheritance. 4 And when the jubilee of the people of Israel comes, then their inheritance will be added to the inheritance of the tribe into which they marry, and their inheritance will be taken from the inheritance of the tribe of our fathers."

 

 

민수기 27장에서는 슬로브하드의 딸들이 아버지의 상속을 받을 수 있는 권리를 요청하는 사건이 나오지만 36장에서는 그 상속권이 다른 지파로 넘어가지 않도록 하기 위한 규정이 필요하다는 문제가 제기된 점에서 차이가 있습니다.

 같은 지파 내에서만 결혼할 것

5 And Moses commanded the people of Israel according to the word of the Lord, saying, "The tribe of the people of Joseph is right. 6 This is what the Lord commands doncerning the daughters of Zelophehad, 'Let them marry whom they think best, only they think best, only they shall marry within the clan of the tribe of their father. 7 The inheritance of the people of Israel shall not be transferred from one tribe to another, for every one of the people of Israel shall hold on to the inheritance of th etribe of his fathers. 8 And every daughter who possesses an inheritance in any tribe of the people of Israel shall be wife to one of the clan of the tribe of her father, so that every one of the people of Israel shall hold on to its own inheritance.;"

 

뭔 욕심들이 많은지 여자 상속자가 권리를 부여받아도 다른 지파로 재산이 넘어가지 않기 위해 같은 지파 내에서 결혼을 규정한다는 것이 진정 하나님의 뜻인지 의구심이 들 정도입니다.

 

 근친혼은 금지하지만 같은 지파만 결혼 가능

 

10 The daughters of Zelophehad did as the Lord commanded Moses, 11 for Mahlah, Tirzah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Noah, the daughters of Zelophehad, were married to sons of their father's brothers. 12 They were married into the clans of the people of Manasseh the son of Joseph, and their inheritance remained in the tribe of their father's clan.

 

 13 These are the commandments and the rules that the Lord commanded through Moses to the people of Israel in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho.

 

아이러니하게도 재산 유지를 위해서 여성은 같은 지파 내에서만 결혼을 하라고 하는데, 그러면서 근친혼은 엄격히 금지하던 시대였다고 합니다. 그래서인지 이종 사촌 이상 정도는 허용이 되었던 것 같은데요. 그거나 그거나 아니었나 모르겠습니다.
